Job Summary

HR Service Jobs is currently seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy E-book Formatter to join our remote team. As an E-book Formatter, you will be responsible for converting written manuscripts into polished, professionally formatted digital e-books compatible with platforms like Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and others. You will ensure clean formatting, accurate styles, and smooth navigation for readers across multiple devices.

This is an ideal role for individuals with a passion for digital publishing, meticulous attention to detail, and a solid grasp of formatting tools and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Format and structure manuscripts into professionally styled e-book files (ePub, MOBI, PDF).

  • Ensure consistency in styles, headers, margins, page numbers, and fonts across the document.

  • Insert hyperlinks, footnotes, table of contents, metadata, and cover art as required.

  • Optimize documents for various e-reader platforms (Kindle, Kobo, Nook, etc.).

  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure formatting integrity.

  • Collaborate with authors, editors, and designers to finalize documents.

  • Convert manuscripts from Word, InDesign, or PDF into publish-ready e-book formats.

  • Troubleshoot formatting issues and ensure seamless user experience across devices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficient in e-book formatting tools such as Calibre, Sigil, Kindle Create, or Adobe InDesign.

  • Solid understanding of e-book file formats (ePub, MOBI, AZW3, PDF).

  • Strong attention to detail and design consistency.

  • Good command of Microsoft Word and Google Docs formatting functions.

  • Ability to follow formatting guidelines and author preferences.

  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS is a plus for advanced formatting customization.

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in e-book formatting or digital publishing preferred.

  • Experience with self-publishing platforms like Amazon KDP, Draft2Digital, or Smashwords is highly desirable.

  • Freshers with strong formatting skills and portfolio samples will also be considered.

Working Hours
