Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, at Spirit’s Defense Business Unit (“Spirit Defense”). Spirit Defense is an independent supplier to the defense and space marketplace. Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Acts as an authorized agent of the company with responsibility for managing all supplier-related activities and authority to commit company resources through contracts and agreements
  • Research, evaluate, and set expectations for prospective suppliers for new business
  • Build and maintain good relations with suppliers
  • Handle and manage negotiating contracts with suppliers
  • Develops requests for quotations and proposals, analyzes supplier responses, negotiates and awards contracts, and manages post award supplier activities
  • Interfaces with internal and external customers and suppliers\
  • Manages post award supplier activities including updating suppliers profile and required documentation
  • Manages inventory levels, simulation, modeling forecasting data, and supplier performance
  • Monitors customer inventory demand and material assets to optimize total supply chain planning
  • Incorporates planning decisions from customers and suppliers to reduce material and product variability, and arrive at optimal solutions
  • Ability to communicate and track program change as flowed down by Prime/Company

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years’ experience in a supply chain role, preferably within the aerospace or manufacturing industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or other relevant course of study preferred 
  • Knowledge of SAP/ERP Systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge/experience with/in manufacturing and manufacturing process a plus
  • High energy, dynamic personality with an ability to effect change
  • A Security Clearance is preferred but is not required to start employment however candidate must meet the criteria to apply for one if necessary

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Strong data analysis skills are a plus
  • Knowledge or experience in manufacturing and manufacturing processes is advantageous
  • Familiarity with MRP Systems, with preference given to SAP experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience

Summary Pay Range: $73,050- $112,000

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
