<h2>Overview</h2> <p>HarperCollins Christian Publishing is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Designer to join our dynamic Creative Services team. This role is ideal for a highly creative, detail-oriented designer who thrives in a collaborative publishing environment and is passionate about bringing impactful books and Bibles to life through exceptional visual design.</p> <p>As a Senior Designer, you’ll play a key role in shaping the visual identity of our products across both print and select digital platforms. From concept development to final production, you’ll create compelling book covers, Bible covers, interior layouts, packaging, and supporting assets that connect with readers and elevate the publishing experience.</p> <p>You’ll collaborate closely with Art Directors, Production, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality creative work on schedule while contributing fresh ideas, strong design execution, and a positive team spirit.</p> <p> </p> <p>This is a full-time remote opportunity. Although preferred locations are Nashville, TN or Grand Rapids, MI to aid in team collaboration.</p> <p><strong>Online portfolio required for consideration.</strong></p> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li>Conceptualize and design innovative book and Bible covers, interiors, packaging, and related creative assets</li> <li>Partner with Art Directors to develop visually compelling designs that align with brand and publishing goals</li> <li>Prepare production-ready mechanicals and final files for print and manufacturing</li> <li>Support additional project design needs, including promotional and supporting visual materials</li> <li>Participate in regular creative reviews and workload planning with the Creative Director and Art Directors</li> <li>Oversee projects through final production stages, including proofing, file preparation, and coordination with the Production Department</li> <li>Assist in creating and uploading final artwork assets to internal systems and external vendor platforms</li> <li>Maintain organization and quality across multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment</li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <p><strong>Knowledge:</strong> Expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite is required; Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel are highly desirable</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Work Experience:</strong> 5+ years of relevant design experience is preferred with 3+ years of additional experience in publishing, designing book covers being a plus</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Education:</strong> Degree in Graphic Design or related field required.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Industry Knowledge:</strong> Current knowledge of the printing process is required.
