The Payroll Compliance Analyst II will manage payroll calculations, analysis, and reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory and collective bargaining requirements while collaborating with various teams to enhance operational efficiency. Responsibilities Analyzes, processes, and reconciles payroll data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance, while meeting contracted deadlines to avoid late fees and penalties Reviews and interprets contract information to ensure clear understanding of compliance requirements and deadlines Identify, investigate, and resolve complex payroll discrepancies Prepare, review, and submit complex payroll reports in accordance with federal, state, and contractual requirements. Maintain comprehensive, audit-ready documentation and support internal and external audits, inspections, and compliance reviews Serve as a subject matter resource for compliance, providing guidance, support, and issue resolution to team members and stakeholders Collaborate closely with HR Management, Business Unit Finance Staff, HRIS, Field Management, Third Party Representatives to answer any questions related to compliance reporting and requirements Performs other job-related duties as assigned including setting up and testing union benefit pay codes for accurate configuration within Workday Contribute to the development and improvement of processes, controls, and best practices to enhance compliance effectiveness and operational efficiency Support training and knowledge-sharing efforts to promote consistent application of compliance requirements across the team Utilizes advanced Excel skills—including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data queries—to review, reconcile, and validate payroll data Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent Skills Understanding of contract language and interpretation Experience in payroll processing, preferably with exposure to prevailing wage, government or union contracts Experience with payroll software (e.g., Workday) Ability to work independently with little or no supervision Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to handle large datasets and identify discrepancies Strong organizational, communication and customer service skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Problem solving skills and the ability to work independently with little supervision Advance level of Excel with emphasis on pivot tables, v/x look up, data queries 2 - 4 years of payroll experience executing and supporting union payroll programs and processes with multi-state operations, compliance knowledge, and experience within a major payroll system (e.g., Workday, ADP, etc.) Benefits Comprehensive medical benefits coverage, dental plans and vision coverage.
