Job Summary

HR Service Jobs is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Remote Legal Research Assistant to join our virtual legal support team. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for legal research, policy analysis, and document drafting. As a Legal Research Assistant, you will support attorneys, legal consultants, or internal teams by conducting high-quality legal research, summarizing findings, and organizing case-related data from the comfort of your home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth legal research on case laws, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents.

  • Summarize and synthesize complex legal information for easy reference by attorneys or senior legal staff.

  • Assist in preparing legal documents including memos, case briefs, and correspondence.

  • Maintain and organize electronic legal files, databases, and legal citations.

  • Monitor changes in legislation and provide relevant updates to internal teams or clients.

  • Draft and proofread legal content for reports, contracts, and official communications.

  • Coordinate with internal departments or legal professionals on case requirements and project timelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Law, Legal Studies, Political Science, or a related field (or pursuing a law degree).

  • Strong research and analytical skills with proficiency in legal databases such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, or government archives.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • High attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex legal terminology.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and legal citation tools.

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in legal research or administrative legal work preferred.

  • Fresh graduates or law students with demonstrable academic legal research skills are welcome to apply.

  • Prior remote work experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Working Hours

  • Flexible hours; choose between part-time or full-time remote shifts.

  • Core collaboration hours: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM IST (for team check-ins and client updates).
