Program Coordinator Medical Staff & Credentialing Services

The Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the operations of the organized medical staff and ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. This role manages the preparation and maintenance of official documentation related to medical staff activities and reporting requirements. The Program Coordinator provides administrative support to medical staff committees, including scheduling, documentation, and follow-up on action items. Additionally, the position plays a key role in supporting managed care auditing processes by overseeing credentialing activities delegated by Managed Care Organizations. This includes ensuring timely and accurate documentation, coordinating with internal departments, and maintaining compliance with contractual obligations.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized and detail-oriented professional who effectively supports medical staff operations, ensures regulatory and managed care compliance, and serves as a reliable liaison by coordinating committees, maintaining accurate documentation, and overseeing credentialing and risk management education requirements.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

Management of Medical Staff Committees - Maintain, facilitate and manage the documentation for regulatory and accreditation reporting. Provide administrative support to the committees of the medical staff, including meeting coordination, follow-up and rosters.

Risk Management Education Credit Tracking - Coordinate and distribute monthly compliance reports to clinical departments and providers in alignment with UT requirements for Risk Management Education (RME).

Managed Care Delegation Compliance - Collaborate with the credentialing team to ensure delegation requirements are met. This includes ensuring required policies and procedures are developed and maintained to align with the managed care requirements.

Medical Staff Liaison - Serve as a liaison between the committee members and medical staff leadership. Maintain a high level of engagement and attention to detail to ensure all submissions of RME and committee communications are accurate and understood.

Management of Medical Staff Committees Other duties as assigned. .Maintain, facilitate and manage the documentation for regulatory and accreditation reporting. Provide administrative support to the committees of the medical staff, including meeting coordination, follow-up and rosters.

EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
Preferred: Master's degree.

EXPERIENCE:
Required: Three years project/program coordination experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, one year of required experience.
Preferred: Experience in a Medical Staff Office, in a credentialing capacity with familiarity with medical staff governance.

OTHER:
Preferred: CPCS, CPMSM Certification
