Nurse Practitioners are considered full-time at 4-5 days per week.
We are also open to Part Time Nurse Practitioners at 3-4 days/week for experienced providers.

Job Overview: The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for delivering comprehensive reproductive and sexual health care, including but not limited to the areas of gynecology, sexually transmitted infection, family planning/contraception provision, abortion care, gender-affirming care/hormone therapy, well-person preventative health services as a part of the clinical services team and doing so in a caring and supportive, customer service driven environment. Certified Nurse Midwives are also encouraged to apply.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Secure a complete health history and record findings accurately and succinctly; we utilize Epic as our EHR platform.
    • Perform physical examinations with special emphasis on the reproductive system (including breast examination, reproductive organ examination, cancer screening tests, STI diagnosis and more)
    • Perform and interpret ultrasound for gestational dating and IUD localization.
    • Provide referrals and ensure follow-up.
    • Perform order and interpret diagnostic studies as indicated and permitted by affiliate medical protocols.
    • Provide direct medical care to patients for core services which includes family planning, all aspects of abortion services allowed by law, and gender affirming hormone therapy.
    • Additional duties may include supporting centralized follow-up, serving as a telephone resource for clients, participating in rotational On Call support and other clinical or administrative tasks as needed.
    • Additional training opportunities in procedural abortion, colposcopy and LEEP (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure) services may be available.

    • Pacing: Our Nurse Practitioners, post sign off, are expected to see patients at an average rate of 3-5 patients/hour or greater, using PPFA and PPM standards and guidelines without compromising care. They are strongly encouraged to participate in health center/affiliate efforts to achieve established revenue cycle goals.

      RQM: Our Nurse Practitioners are expected to complete all responsibilities according to established protocol, policies and standard practices in the areas of customer service, quality assurance and regulatory compliance programs such as HIPAA (Health Information Portability & Accountability Act), OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) and CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Administration) and Title X.

      Secondary Functions: Our Clinicians are leaders in our agency and often asked to participate in the orientation of new staff, public education regarding mission and philosophy, attending meetings as required, provide written and verbal feedback to support staff performance evaluations and training efforts, partner with our Health Center Managers on operational initiatives and service expansion, and to perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

    • Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program (WHNP/CRNP/CNM)
    • Active and Unrestricted RN and NP/CNM licenses in Maryland
    • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience working as an independent Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Midwife
    • BLS Certification from an American Heart Association accredited organization
    • CDS/DEA registration
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members
    • Demonstrate empathy and patient-centered care approach
    • Willingness to support Gender Affirming Care
    • Ability to perform the physical tasks associated with patient care such as: standing for extended periods and lifting and moving patients or equipment is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience within the field of sexual and reproductive health as an independent WHNP or CNM preferred.
    • ACLS certification preferred
    • Proficiency with IUC insertion and removal procedures preferred
    • Proficiency with contraceptive implant insertion and removal procedures preferred
    • First trimester dating ultrasound skills and Medication AB experience preferred
    • Prior experience providing Gender Affirming Care/Hormone therapy preferred
    • Experience working with EPIC Electronic Health Record preferred
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred

Training Overview:

    • Training and privileging timeline will often depend on the experience of the clinician; however 90 days is a common time frame to be fully trained & privileged in the basics of Family Planning and Medical Abortion services.
    • We utilize a hybrid of in person, online and OTJ (On the Job) training methods geared towards adult learners to ensure our clinicians feel comfortable providing our core services.
    • After the initial privileging on core services is complete, we offer additional training opportunities for a variety of additional Family Planning procedures, ultrasound, colposcopy, LEEP and Procedural Abortion services to our Nurse Practitioner staff.
    • We encourage continued learning through Clinical Retreats in-house and offer an annual allowance and 3 paid days for attending medical conferences, pay for professional memberships and journal subscriptions, as relevant and desired.
$54 - $57 an hour
