We’re seeking a future team member in the role of  Metadata Specialist  to join our Data Solutions and Services team. This role is in Pittsburgh, PA or Lake Mary, FL - HYBRID. Data Solutions & Services is focused on implementing enterprise data & governance, delivering the firm’s master data strategy, driving holistic access to data via our Lake, and enabling the business to deliver advanced outcomes for ourselves and our customers using AI/ML techniques. In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the quality, integrity, and governance of metadata across the organization’s data landscape.
  • Be a strategic partner in a team responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining metadata standards and practices to support data governance, data lineage, and data management activities.
  • Support the creation of a comprehensive metadata management strategy aligned with the organizations data governance and data management objectives.
  • Partner with technology and business partners to adhere to metadata standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness of metadata across various data domains and systems.
  • Direct and provides guidance on the analysis and design of data models and logical databases at the data element level consistent with the corporate architectural models.
  • Support the design and implementation of metadata repositories and tools to capture, store, and management metadata effectively.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, including data owners, data stewards, and IT teams, to gather metadata requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Support data lineage and impact analysis activities by ensuring the accuracy and completeness of metadata documentation and lineage mappings.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
  • 3-7+ years of experience in data modelling/warehousing with related management experience, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
  • Experienced hands-on Data and Metadata Management, from concept to implementation with a demonstrable track record of delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder management and people skills, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities under pressure. You will have strong analytical and management skills, are familiar with Agile methodology and played an active role in scrums such as backlog refinement, sprint planning and execution. The ability to apply backlog prioritization to define sprint goals and enable iterative deliveries is key.
  • People Leadership, be able to inspire and build momentum across a global team but you are also a team player, happy to roll up your sleeves when needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Risk, Compliance and Financial domain experience and/or experience working on Regulatory reporting is a plus.
  • Collibra implementation experience is desirable.
