Lead Bartender

Job Summary

Biggin's West is looking for an experienced, energetic, and dependable Lead Bartender to help lead our bar team in a fast-paced sports bar and nightlife environment. This position is more than bartending—you'll be responsible for setting the tone behind the bar, coaching staff, maintaining service standards, and helping drive sales while delivering an exceptional guest experience.

The ideal candidate thrives in high-volume environments, leads by example, and understands that great bartending is equal parts hospitality, efficiency, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Lead bartenders during shifts and help maintain a positive, professional team culture
  • Deliver exceptional guest service while preparing beverages accurately and efficiently
  • Ensure bar guests are acknowledged promptly and receive timely service
  • Coach and train bartenders on recipes, service standards, upselling, and responsible alcohol service
  • Assist management with opening and closing procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards throughout the bar
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate ordering needs to management
  • Accurately process transactions through POS systems and maintain proper cash-handling procedures
  • Help execute special events, promotions, watch parties, trivia nights, and themed events
  • Address guest concerns professionally and resolve issues when possible
  • Ensure compliance with all state and local alcohol regulations
  • Lead by example regarding attendance, punctuality, appearance, and professionalism

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years bartending experience in a high-volume bar, nightclub, sports bar, or restaurant environment
  • Previous leadership, training, or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, beer, liquor, and responsible alcohol service
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure during busy shifts
  • Experience using POS systems and handling cash accurately
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
  • Ability to stand for 12+ hours and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events
