Indirect Strategic Sourcing Manager - Transportation (Remote)

<strong>Job Description</strong><br><br>The role will focus on the Transportation Sourcing category and will be a member of team supporting Sourcing, Contracting and Supplier Management of services in the following categories: 3PL, Truckload, Final Mile, Small Parcel, Dedicated Fleet, Ocean Freight, Drayage and LTL.<br><br>The Sourcing Manager will remain current on Category Market trends, Supplier Economics, and Procurement best practices. Working with the Business Units and Suppliers, the Sourcing Manager will support a Strategic Procurement process that will substantially reduce total costs.<br><br><strong>Primary Responsibility:</strong><br><ul> <li>Support relative to the design, implement and execute the organization's strategic sourcing initiatives, including supply market analysis, management of requests for proposal, and supplier negotiations</li> <li>Support Contract administration process including contract workspace creation, drafting and maintaining document control practices between all stakeholders, including ODP Legal.</li> <li>Network across VEYER to build strong relationships with stakeholders and develop sourcing strategies which support their business.</li> <li>Know your category and market. Be a resource to stakeholders to make better decisions.</li> <li>Manage relationships with key suppliers ensuring they meet quality and service requirements while maintaining competitive prices</li> <li>Manage supplier selection processes using market analysis, concise request for proposals (RFPs), eAuctions and a data driven approach.</li></ul><br><strong>Education & Experience</strong><br><ul> <li>Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in business administration or related field required</li> <li>Minimum 3 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing and/or Procurement, </li> <li>Experience in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain industries preferred</li> <li>CPSM (Certified Professional Supply Chain Manager) preferred.</li> <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constant deadlines and deliverables</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple projects at one time</li> <li>Capable of working with and managing cross functional teams to ensure all project deliverables and timelines are met</li> <li>Ability to work within a matrixed environment</li> <li>Professional level spoken and written English and demonstrated ability to read and understand legal documents in English</li> <li>Computer literacy and a basic understanding and knowledge of computer based analytical and communication tools (Excel & PowerPoint)</li> <li>Experience in supplier sourcing and eAuctions</li> <li>Contract Management Tools (Ariba, Oracle Contracts)</li> <li>Spend Analytics</li> <li>Quick learner with interest in understanding and applying supplier best practices.</li> <li>Strong influencing skills and change management experience with the ability to successfully manage complexity and multiple priorities.</li> <li>Excellent organization, communication and presentation skills.</li> <li>Problem-solving and decision-making techniques and a strong understanding of contracting and negotiating</li> <li>Innovative, self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision along with strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills</li></ul><br><br>It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment.
