Facilities Manager, Physical Place

<strong>Overview<br><br></strong>REI is seeking a Facilities Manager to provide facility management support for our network of retail stores. This job contributes to REI’s success by providing technical expertise and repair and maintenance (R&M) management services for a portfolio of retail locations. Responsibilities include day-to-day oversight of facilities issues within their assigned region, managing service vendor performance, and ensuring regularly scheduled preventative maintenance programs are delivered in accordance with established standards (e.g., Janitorial, HVAC, Elevators, and Landscaping). The Facilities Manager is also responsible for implementation of in-store retrofits and renovations projects.<br><br>The Facilities Manager will act as a liaison between store management, contractors, service providers, cross divisional leadership, landlords, and retail property management to deliver exceptional service and drive efficiencies in accordance with REI’s established facility maintenance program. Models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities And Qualifications<br><br></strong>Responsibilities:<br><br><ul><li>Portfolio Management</li><li>Responsible for all facilities related work in assigned region(s).</li><li>Provides weekend escalation/triage support for stores via a shared on-call rotation (8-10 per year).</li><li>Generates work orders for Preventative Maintenance (PM) services.</li><li>Monitors monthly janitorial PM’s and provides performance feedback to vendor.</li><li>Supports requests for additional janitorial services as needed (Ex: High Dusting; Floor Cleaning; Window Washing).</li><li>Provides administration and quality control for facilities tickets in REI’s facilities management platform (Service Channel) ensuring prioritization, dispatch, and resolution of repairs meet established SLAs.</li><li>Owns timely communication to Store Operations team on status of open tickets and plan to resolve.</li><li>Reviews and approves invoices for R&M programs and services.</li><li>Participates in the new store opening process and documents asset attributes for upload into Service Channel.</li><li>Responsible for scoping and contracting service providers in support of new store locations.</li><li>Tracks and reports on warranty work in partnership with Construction.</li><li>Vendor Management</li><li>Monitors, tracks, and evaluates work performance of service vendors in accordance with the contracted standards, SLAs, and established cost labor rates.</li><li>Assists in sourcing and selecting vendors.</li><li>Collects data in support of vendor scorecard creation and inspection. Participates in vendor QBRs as applicable.</li><li>Capital Projects</li><li>Manages minor remodel/refresh projects within assigned region.</li><li>Manages asset replacement projects within assigned region. (Ex: HVAC; Elevators; Roofs; and Signage)</li><li>Facilities Program Support</li><li>Provides ongoing coaching and training to store employees in support of R&M, PM, and Janitorial program goals.</li><li>Conducts semi-annual portfolio reviews for assigned regions.</li><li>30% travel required which may fluctuate based on business needs.<br><br><br></li></ul>Qualifications:<br><br><ul><li>5+ years Facilities Management experience preferably in a retail environment.</li><li>Knowledge of retail facilities, store construction processes and equipment including HVAC, elevators, lighting systems, roofing systems and general building structures.</li><li>Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail with experience working in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple, geographically diverse, concurrent projects working remotely and auditing virtually. </li><li>Proven skills in establishing and maintaining budgets, schedules, and deadlines, prioritizing, and managing resources to accomplish goals.</li><li>Strong communication skills both written and oral.<br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Closing<br><br></strong><strong>At REI, we believe the outdoors is for all.</strong> We are committed to becoming a fully inclusive, anti-racist, multicultural organization.
