Boston Unique Indoor Comfort - HVAC Outside Sales Representative

About the position

The HVAC Outside Sales Representative is responsible for generating business, developing, and maintaining relationships with customers and clients, and reaching/exceeding sales goals. The Outside Sales Representative manages the full sales process including identifying prospective customers, scheduling meetings with potential customers to discuss HVAC needs, preparing and presenting HVAC estimates, and closing the sale. Working independently, the Outside Sales Representative must be willing and able to drive throughout the sales region to meet the needs of customers and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform outside sales activities such as sourcing, meeting with, closing, and following up with both residential and light commercial HVAC customers in their homes or places of business.
  • Follow up with potential customers via email, text, and phone calls and generating new leads through the distribution of print marketing materials, lead aggregators, and other potential lead sources.
  • Consult with customers to provide a customized HVAC system solution including maintenance programs.
  • Create accurate sales estimates using vendor pricing and company templates
  • Provide customers with multiple solutions for their HVAC and other home comfort needs.
  • Independently complete the sales process to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct post-sale follow-up to ensure all sales agreements have been fulfilled to customer satisfaction.
  • Follow up with existing sales, bids, and leads to offer any additional information as needed to convert them into sales.
  • Overcome technical and business objections of prospective customers.
  • Emphasize salable features, quotes, prices, and credit terms and prepare sales orders for jobs sold.
  • Educate customers on available state and local rebate programs, ensuring they understand potential savings and incentives tied to energy-efficient HVAC systems.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Participate in various sales activities to support corporate efforts including, but not limited to, trade shows, referral groups, communication with vendors, etc.
  • Attend weekly sales meetings and other business meetings as required.
  • Complete special projects and perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years successful outside sales experience in HVAC
  • Excellent knowledge of and command of HVAC technology
  • Able to pass a drug screening and background check
  • Valid drivers license and ability to drive to sales appointments
  • Able to learn about the state and local rebate programs that are available
  • Able to learn about the local permitting requirements associated with HVAC system installation in various municipalities
  • Customer focused, able to relate and respond to all personalities
  • Competitive, hardworking, responsible, and committed

  • Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Able to work independently without requiring close supervision
