The Ambassador supports the Patient Relations team as part of MD Anderson Cancer Center's institutional Welcome initiative, which prioritizes the safety, security, and comfort of all individuals visiting MD Anderson campuses. The Ambassador serves as a visible and welcoming presence at public entrances and Information Desks, ensuring patients and visitors receive clear guidance, accurate information, and a positive first impression that reflects MD Anderson's values.

This individual communicates clearly, listens actively, and is comfortable performing multiple duties simultaneously while upholding safety and service standards. Experience interacting with the public, following established procedures, and working collaboratively with peers is preferred.

Minimum $37,450.00 - Midpoint $42,725.00 - Maximum $48,000.00
The typical work schedule is 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Visitor Experience & Service • Acknowledge and greet patients and visitors upon arrival in a professional and welcoming manner
• Perform health screening procedures in accordance with institutional guidelines
• Create a positive first impression that reflects MD Anderson Cancer Center's mission and values

Information & Navigation Support • Accurately provide information and directions related to hospital campuses, services, and departments
• Assist patients, visitors, and staff with navigation and general inquiries

Operational Support • Perform multiple functions including screener, greeter, and information desk support in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain a highly professional, calm, and positive attitude when interacting with customers and peers

Other Duties • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Welcome initiative and Patient Relations team

EDUCATION

  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree Communications or related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Required: 2 years Customer service experience responding to customer inquiries or related experience.
  • : Bachelor's degree can be substituted for required experience.
  • Preferred: Healthcare experience.
  • Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
